Ren and Stimpy will basically be using each other as weapons

Most fans will probably remember Ren and Stimpy as the chihuahua-and-cat duo that starred in their own show back in the 90s, and that are the exact opposites of each other. Stimpy is a kinder, more gentle persona albeit lacking in the intelligence department. Meanwhile, Ren is a sinister Chihuahua that tends to vent his rage in rather aggressive ways. This makes the two perfect additions to a brawler where they’ll have a chance to fling each other towards their opponents, as per the official announcement on the PlayStation Blog. Back in July, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl had everybody scratching their heads. A couple of months later, and it’s definitely becoming a game that fans should keep an eye on. In addition to the aforementioned duo, the game features a wide range of characters from multiple popular TV shows. This includes characters from SpongeBob Squarepants and Avatar: The Last Airbender, among others. There have even been leaks and rumors suggesting that more are coming ahead of the game’s launch on October 5 later this year. Ludosity definitely has its work cut out for itself as it will undoubtedly struggle to shrug off the Smash-like monicker. However, unlike Nintendo’s platform brawler, Ludosity is more focused on Nickelodeon franchises. This affords it an arguably wider target audience that grew up watching cable TV years ago. The best part is that it’s not all about evoking nostalgia either. The roster also has several more recent characters such as The Loud House’s Lincoln and Lucy Loud, among others. With that said, the true power of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl will lie in how it handles its fan service. Nintendo already paved the way for other platform brawlers. All Ludosity has to do now is to make sure that it does extra characters right. Ideally, the studio will include a handful of hidden and unlockable characters as opposed to locking them behind a paywall as paid DLC content. Here’s hoping that this is indeed the case because we’re sure the inner 90s’ kids of thousands of gamers around the globe are screaming in excitement right now.
