We’ve seen the likes of The Witcher 3, Skyrim, and even Fortnite, as well as Apex Legends, all become playable (somewhat) on the Nintendo Switch. At the Nintendo Direct presentation at E3 2021, Nintendo just confirmed that Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy will be joining that list.
Get Ready to Play as Star-Lord on the Nintendo Switch
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy was first revealed at the Square Enix Presents showcase on June 13, also at E3 2021. At the time, the game, which is being developed by Eidos-Montréal, was confirmed to be available on all modern platforms except for the Nintendo Switch. However, just two days later, Nintendo has confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy will be available on its own hybrid console platform at the launch date on October 26. Nintendo didn’t exactly make it clear how Guardians of the Galaxy will be available on the Nintendo Switch. Many believe that it could be via cloud streaming, as is the case with Remedy Entertainment’s Control. Not that we don’t think that the Nintendo Switch couldn’t play Guardians of the Galaxy without a bit of tweaking. It’s just that, judging from the trailers, we’re not quite sure how the game would translate on the Nintendo Switch’s hardware. It’s also worth noting that Crystal Dynamics’ Marvel’s Avengers still isn’t available on the Nintendo Switch more than a year after it was first launched. It will be interesting to see how well Guardians of the Galaxy will run on the Nintendo Switch. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait too long to find out. As we mentioned earlier, Guardians of the Galaxy is expected to launch on all the confirmed platforms on October 26. Unfortunately, a Nintendo Switch Pro announcement was not a part of the Nintendo Direct presentation.
