TheGhostofHope went on Twitter to drop new and interesting details about the multiplayer mode of Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty game. Specifically, the user claims that the studio will adjust several multiplayer aspects that most players are used to. For example, TheGhostofHope claims that the biggest change will come to the Perks system. Instead of being able to choose three Perks, the new Call of Duty game will let players select four.

TheGhostofHope elaborated further on Twitter, saying that players can “choose 2 in the first column. 1 in the second column. 1 in the third column.’ In addition, GhostofHope revealed that players won’t need a Perk to get access to the Classic Minimap. This means that unsilenced weapons will show up on the minimap as red dots for everyone in the game. Finally, GhostofHope shared something that probably won’t sit too well with some gamers. According to GhostofHope, Infinity Ward will bring the Last Stand ability to Modern Warfare 2 as a field upgrade.

— Hope (@TheGhostOfHope) March 13, 2022 Of course, since Modern Warfare 2 is still in development, not everything that’s already in the game right now is final. Most likely, Infinity Ward will continuously tweak Modern Warfare 2 until its release date to strike the perfect balance. Don’t be surprised if everything changes drastically between what you’re hearing about Modern Warfare 2 now and what ends up being released. All this new info could be completely false too. Activision continues to produce chart-topping Call of Duty projects every year. However, each subsequent installment has sold less compared to the last annual title. This gradual decline in units sold in recent years has birthed all sorts of reports from credible sources. Some are even going as far as to say that Activision will not release a new Call of Duty game in 2023, which would be a first in the franchise’s long and storied history. If this happens, the publisher reportedly has other plans, which many theorize has something to do with the official reveal of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. Only time will tell if all this grapevine talk will bear fruit, but with Infinity Ward at the helm, fans don’t have to worry too much about the quality of the upcoming Call of Duty game.
