What’s Coming to Call of Duty Mobile?
Call of Duty: Mobile in China is almost always ahead of the curve compared to the international version of the game. For example, the Shoot House was first tested in China before being adding in Season 2. Meanwhile, the Chinese version also received a game mode similar to the popular indie title, Among Us, and is expected to come to the game soon enough as well. With that said, in its most recent update, the test version of the Chinese version of Call of Duty: Mobile received a lot of new updates, including:
Zombies Mode
It seems that the fan-favorite Zombies mode will be making its way back to Call of Duty: Mobile sooner than most people expected. Initially removed in the March 2020 update, fans can expect to blast the brains out of some of the undead soon enough after the mode was recently added back into the Chinese version of Call of Duty: Mobile. In addition to the new mode being added to the home screen, the player menus were also overhauled and revamped. It also comes with the Shi No Numa map instead of the standard multiplayer maps in Call of Duty: Mobile. With both the first Zombies map and the mode returning to Call of Duty: Mobile in China, the international version could be next.
A New Prestige System
Since 2007’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, the Prestige system has been a part of every Call of Duty game released. This is why a lot of fans want the same system added to Call of Duty: Mobile. Although fans felt that the Prestige system would never come as 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare didn’t have it, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War did add the system back, which prompted fans to wish for it to be finally added to Call of Duty: Mobile. However, if the Chinese version is an indication, Call of Duty: Mobile might have a different Prestige system. Instead of being based on player levels, players might have a weapon Prestige system where they can unlock unique cosmetics the higher their rank on a particular gun.
Monastery Map
The Monastery is a popular 6v6 map exclusive to Call of Duty Online, which is the Chinese version of Call of Duty. However, a recent update added the same map to Call of Duty: Mobile in China. Thus, players are speculating that the map will eventually make its way to the international version of Call of Duty: Mobile.
What’s Next for Call of Duty Mobile?
With Season 2 of Call of Duty: Mobile having just arrived, it’ll be a while before Call of Duty: Mobile receives its next big update. Typically, each season of Call of Duty: Mobile lasts for 4-6 weeks. Because Season 2 arrived in Mid-March, we shouldn’t expect Season 3 to arrive until late April or early May. This means that it will at least be a month before we see new changes, including possibly the ones first added to the Chinese version of Call of Duty: Mobile.
