If we’re being honest, Sony was a little light on new games at its most recent exhibition. By far, the main highlight was the Resident Evil 4 Remake and Marvel’s Spider-Man PC port. However, it didn’t have a first-party title at all. Some are saying that God of War: Ragnarok was supposed to be there but Sony changed its plans last minute. If you think about it, it would make sense after all that happened over the past few weeks before Sony went ahead and revealed the release date for the God of War sequel. Theories aside, we don’t think Sony will let Gamescom enjoy the attention next month and it appears that an insider has info that corroborates this educated guess. A verified ResetEra insider hints that Sony will have a more extensive gameplay trailer for God of War: Ragnarok in an August State of Play. Unfortunately, the same source did not clarify if this is going to be a big event or not. Sony has held a State of Play in August and September of 2020 and 2021, respectively. In both instances, Sony had a massive lineup of games prepared for audiences. Coincidentally, Sony formally revealed God of War: Ragnarok in last year’s September State of Play. Sony could give audiences a better look at the upcoming PlayStation exclusive within the next two months ahead of its release in November. In addition, we might also see more footage of Forspoken, which Square Enix recently delayed to January. In other news, Sony has finally added Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) to the PlayStation 5 in a recent software update.
