If you’ve ever played any Call of Duty game on console, you’ll feel right at home while playing COD Mobile with an external controller.
Which controllers work with Call of Duty Mobile?
Activision officially supports PS4 and Xbox One controllers on Call of Duty mobile. So if you’ve got any one of those two controllers, you’re already a step ahead of the game. However, just note that Activision does not support the first generation of PS4 controllers. If you’ve got any other Bluetooth controller, they may work perfectly, have a few functionality issues, or may not work at all. Most of the high-quality 3rd party controllers are mapped to the Xbox One controller, so if you can connect one of those with your phones, chances are they will work almost perfectly in Call of Duty mobile. So far, Activision has not added official support for PS5’s Dual Sense or Xbox Series S/X’s controller, but that should be coming along in a future update.

Pull down the notification shade and long-press the Bluetooth icon to access Bluetooth settings. Enable pairing on your controller. This is done by holding the Share and PS button at the same time on a PS4 controller, or the Xbox and sync button on an Xbox One controller. Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device (usually done through settings). Within Bluetooth settings, locate “wireless controller” and connect to that device. Open Call of Duty: Mobile and enable “Allow to use controller” in the Controller settings menu (note: you may see the below screenshot while your controller is connecting, or if your controller isn’t paired yet). Set and modify your controls for each game type.

And now you’re all set to blasting your foes in CoD mobile. It’s worth noting that the controller only works in-game, and not in lobby or settings. You’ll still have to use touch controls there, which makes it a wee bit annoying but the smooth and seamless experience in-game makes you forgive its shortcomings.
