Wrath of the Druids dropped on May 13, taking players on an adventure throughout Ireland with a conflict against the Children of Danu cult front and center. Unfortunately, those who were expecting the DLC to further the overarching story of the base game were left disappointed. Specifically, it did not tie to The Hidden Ones, which are essentially the precursors to the brotherhood of the Assassins. Because of this, fans hoped that the next DLC would change things. Apparently, though, this isn’t the case. The ever-so-reliable French leaker, j0nathan, just delivered fresh information about The Siege of Paris, and it’s not good news for those hoping to see more of The Hidden Ones.
What Siege of Parid DLC Details Did J0nathan Leak?
According to j0nathan, The Siege of Paris will take place in the year 885. This means that it will be set nearly a decade after the conclusion of the main story, which takes place right around 877. While we did mention that the possibility of The Hidden Ones appearing in The Siege of Paris is slim, it’s not totally out of the question. The leak states that there is a line of dialogue that will reference the Hidden Ones in the DLC. So, even if players don’t get a chance to interact more with The Hidden Ones in The Siege of Paris, they might uncover more information via gear or loot. But, if it’s any consolation, the order of the Ancients will be present. In fact, just like in the base game, The Siege of Paris will reportedly see Eivor hunt down members of the same organization throughout Paris. j0nathan adds that The Siege of Paris will not be any different from Wrath of the Druids in how it starts. All players have to do to trigger the DLC is to meet a foreign character in Ravensthorpe. Additional details include Charles the Fat possibly being one of Eivor’s targets. This isn’t exactly outside of the realm of possibility. Charles the Fat did wage war against the Norse. With that said, it is a shame that The Siege of Paris won’t explore the story of The Hidden Ones more after Wrath of the Druids seemed to have forgotten that they excited. One of the more exciting elements of the latest Assassin’s Creed trilogy of games that started with Origins was finding out more about the lore behind the Assassins Brotherhood. Judging by the looks of it, it seems like Ubisoft wants to explore the Order of the Ancients more in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. If we were to speculate, it may be because The Siege of Paris will explore the establishment of the Templars, which have traditionally been the antagonists of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. The last bit of information from j0nathan is that the Siege of Paris DLC is expected to arrive on November 9, 2021. However, this is a mere placeholder date. Ubisoft may release the second DLC for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla before then. Speaking of DLCs, j0nathan did not talk more about the potential third DLC that he himself leaked earlier this year.
