Now that Olsen is taking center stage in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness alongside Benedict Cumberbatch, there is an interesting report suggesting that Marvel Studios has extended her contract by nearly a decade, including a stipulation that she’ll eventually get to star in her solo feature film. The information comes from self-described “Marvel insider”, Harry Bowls, on Twitter, where he claims that there is speculation that Olsen’s next MCU contract includes a Scarlet Witch solo film. Of course, it’s best to take this intel with a heavy dose of skepticism. After all, contracts don’t usually last for years but several projects. Then again, the phrasing could be interpreted as including a specific number of projects within the next couple of years, which isn’t exactly outside the realm of possibility. Still, as Disney nor Marvel Studios has confirmed Olsen’s rumored contract extension, consider everything you just read as hearsay.

Her role as Wanda Maximoff is a fan favorite and the original comic books have plenty of storylines that involve her magical powers. The MCU’s decision to expand and explore the multiverse should only cement Olsen’s importance in future MCU movies. Besides, even if the critically acclaimed WandaVision series isn’t going to get a second season, a spin-off is coming that should include at least one appearance or two of Olsen’s Scarlet Witch. TLDR; Elizabeth Olsen probably didn’t extend her MCU contract by 7 years, but we’re not ruling out the possibility that she is in talks to star in a Scarlet Witch movie. In other MCU news, Moon Knight is set to hit Disney+ on March 30. Meanwhile, fans can look forward to seeing more of the multiverse in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on May 14 following the upcoming MCU movie’s hype-inducing trailer at Super Bowl LVI.
