HexWorks and CI Games have unveiled a new trailer for the upcoming Souls-like game. The trailer includes actual gameplay footage and it is voiced by House of the Dragon’s Milly Alcock. The actor played as the young Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen in season 1 of the Game of Thrones prequel series. CI Games first announced the Lords of the Fallen sequel at Gamescom 2022. Joseph Quinn of Stranger Things Season 4 lent his voice for the announcement trailer. The Lords of the Fallen looks to have a lot of celebrity voice actors involved with the game. The upcoming sequel will take place a thousand years after the events of the 2014 original. The world has been split between the realms of the living and the dead. Traversing these realms will form a core part of the gameplay. CI Games describes the game as an “expansive RPG experience” where players traverse “two fully interconnected worlds.” Both realms offer “its own unique pathways, side quests, NPCs, enemies, and treasures.” CI Games revealed that the game will have a “breathtakingly vertical world, over five times bigger than that of its predecessor” and will feature “a huge roster of NPCs to meet and stories to uncover.” In the sequel, players have full character customization and progression. The game will also feature an uninterrupted online multiplayer co-op experience with a second player. The developer describes the gameplay as “fast, fluid combat, with a wide range of devastating weapons and powerful magic.” According to previous information, The Lords of the Fallen will use Unreal Engine 5. It’s also going to be exclusive to current-gen consoles, in order to “bring the full scope and detail of our dark fantasy vision to life.” HexWorks, a studio founded by CI Games, will take the lead on The Lords of the Fallen. The developer was established in 2020 and it currently consists of two studios in Barcelona and Bucharest. HexWorks will be taking over the development from Deck13 which worked on the original game. Executive producer, Saul Gascon, is helming HexWorks after handling Dead by Daylight and Payday 2 in the past. The creative director for the studio is Cezar Virtosu, who previously worked on popular titles such as Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Assassin’s Creed: Origins.
