In the world of battle royale, well-known titles such as Fortnite have had many new maps and changes that have always kept players’ interest levels high, but that is not the case in Warzone. While Warzone did have minor modifications to the original Verdansk map, there hasn’t been a complete “overhaul” or new “main” map for the battle royale mode. While Rebirth Island was a newly introduced map, it has its own leaderboards, and it is considered a separate game mode and not the principal battle royale mode the game is based around. Originally, the new map was going to be introduced following a much-anticipated nuke event which is yet to be seen. But, given the recent changes to the Verdansk map, it is safe to assume that the nuke event or a new map introduction is just around the corner at this point. These changes include the critical Outbreak event that added zombies, and zombie terminals that showed the contamination or zombie infection percentage across Verdansk. It is assumed that once the terminals reach 100%, Verdansk will be nuked to kill all the zombies followed by a transition into the new map. These terminals were found inside the new missile silos (all the more reason to believe the nuke event is nearing). @InfoCoDEsp_2, A well-known Call of Duty leaker on Twitter, claims that a much larger map will be added to Warzone, specifically for 250 players, and states that it is the equivalent of 23 Fireteam: Dirty Bomb maps! The InfoCodEsp_2 also tweeted that there will be new vehicles added to the game, most of which are still not available in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
Muchos de ellos todavía no han llegado a Black Ops Cold War. También se habla de que se jugará con 250 jugadores. — Call of Duty Info {Filtraciones} (@InfoCoDES_2) March 14, 2021 The tweet is in Spanish, but the following is the exact translation of the tweet: While many love the idea of an expanded player count, there are a few who worry that the new 250 players map will cause a lot of in-game instabilities such as server overload, lags, and stutters, etc. most of which are already part of the game even on a 150 players map. The most recent and common ones being the dev error and the fatal error. Many of them have yet to make it to Black Ops Cold War. There is also talk that it will be played with 250 players. Warzone was released as part of Modern Warfare, but since its release, Warzone has evolved into a stand-alone game, and with a lot of content constantly being added to the game, keeping it exciting and fresh for the players. Warzone is now going to be part of every future Call of Duty. It will act as a marketing portal for the newer Call of Duty games as well as evolve and adapt to match the new games, just like it did with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Only time will tell what Warzone has in store for us. Until then, all we can do is hope for the best and pray that the long-stretched and much-awaited nuke event happens soon!
